I'm Spartacus! Kubrick, Spartacus and Lope de Vega

This paper proposes a re-reading of the scene of Stanley Kubrick's film Spartacus (1960), in which all the vanquished slaves self-identify as the mentor of the rebellion, considering the hypothesis that the director and/or the scriptwriter had taken inspiration from the 1618 Spanish play Fuenteovejuna by Lope de Vega to write it.
