Abstract

The present work analyses and interprets the so called " settlement in height " and their relation with the studies of the Southwest population of the peninsula during the Late Antiquity. To do so, we start from the analysis of these kind of sites in the Valley of the Almanzora River, which are mostly unknown. The aforementioned analysis will help us to contribute to the current discussion and provide a new territorial analysis model which enables the characterisation of different kinds of settlements in height that, at the same time, will allow us to transcend from the merely local studies to wider contexts.
