Abstract

With the word orme the Stoic pbilosopbers refer more to an unconscius than to a conscious impulse. The first one being for the stoics (unlike the Epicureans) the impulse towards selpreservation. On the other band, man has this orme only qua zoon, not qua zoon logikon.
