Pervivencia de Plauto en la literatura brasileña: la comedia O santo e a parca de Ariano Suassuna

Abstract

At the present moment there is not a monograph about the influence of the Latín comedy, particularly the one by Plautus, on the theatres written in Portuguese, especially the Portuguese and the Brazilian theatres. Nevertheless, as an evidence of the need to do such a research, the author analyses the comedy O Santo e a Parca, written by the Brazilian dramatist Ariano Suassuna (bom in Nossa Senhora das Neves, Paraíba, 1927), whose inspiration based upon Plautus is recognised by the author hirnself; you can realise it if yo u compare O Santo e a Parca with Aulularia by Plautus.
