La emisión con leyenda Florentia y el tesoro del Albaicín

Abstract

The appearance of a set of coins with the Latin inscription FLORENTIA, during excavations in an archaeological site in the Albaicín (Granada) in 1993, has enabled us to make a more detailed analysis of this rare issue. The study of these pieces and of the coins previously known has better defined their description and the metrological standard to which they were minted, indicating that they were issued at a later date than was generally believed. It has also been revealed that some of the coins of this issue, kept in public and private collections, are false or have been retouched.
