J.C. Escaligero exercised a true dictatorship in the second halfofthe 16th century. His poetics, complete and complex, was consulted by poets specially those of de Sevillian School and others related to them settled in Andalusia. Herrera's mastery has much to do with his. We have approached two poets, Luis Carrillo and Barahona de Soto, as clear examples ofwhat we have just said.
