Abstract

Juan Latino was the most important poet in Latin language in the spanish city of Granada during the Renaissance. In this study we discuss the social, political, religious and cultural context in which he lived. These historical aspects were of great relevance in the author's life and work, which itself shows the effect of his relations with the city's powerful institutions and authorities.
