Las imitaciones latinas de la elegía de Poliziano In violas

Abstract

The present study examines different Latin imitations of Poliziano’s famous elegy In violas. These imitations may adopt the form of an elegy or an epigram. This is not a casual phenomenon. It is due to the way in which Poliziano’s text was perceived at the time from a generic point of view and to the relationship established in classical poetics between elegy, epigram and sonnet.
