Abstract

Acacius, the bishop of Antioch of Pisidia, is the only Christian whose rathervaluable acts we still possess for whom the final sentence was not the death sentencebut acquittal, even though he did not renounce his religion. It is an extraordinary casewhich it is worth highlighting on account of the exclusive nature of what occurs. In thisarticle the circumstances surrounding the procedure are examined, as well as the possiblecauses which led to this particular outcome.
