Abstract

The present article aims to offer an analysis of the references to education in present values in the Spanish educational legislation since the reform of the nineties, the well-known LOGSE[i], came into force. It offers a brief review of the legal reforms after the LOGSE, as far as  the educational process is seen as a  global process, based more on educating  citizens to be critical and not only to have simple conceptual ideas, are concerned.  The majority of the legal references form part of what we might name a legislation based on diversity. The conclusion we aim to arrive at  is how the global, educational process, understood and applied as such, can turn pupils into competent citizens in diverse areas and, therefore,  improve,  their quality of life, always providing the importance of the globality of the above-mentioned process is borne in mind.
