Permanent education focused towards old age/aging. Experiences and reflections
Main Article Content
Abstract
This is a reflection on thoughts about the idiosyncrasy of residents in an old people’s home, with whom I lived, and shows some subjective conclusions which, far from being dogmatic for decision-making by experts, nor for caring for the elderly when this time has arrived, but anticipate the foreseeable arrival of this period in life.
The so often repeated phrase “Further education”, is not always valued nor understood, and such lack of understanding is noticed in vacuums of curiosity and mental activity, little capacity of interaction, absence of sound relationships towards the collectivity, thus making many of those lives an evolution without any expectations, dreams nor hopes that may rise from within themselves, and so creating too much dependence on the outside world, particularly from the family.
