Emotion screening instruments for mathematics: a scoping review
Main Article Content
Abstract
The understanding of the impact of emotions on mathematics has evolved significantly over the years, leading to the need for measurement instruments. In light of this, this research aims to conduct a scoping review of available instruments that assess emotions related to mathematics. Using databases such as SciElo, Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed, Embase, and Springer, articles investigating measurement instruments for emotions in mathematics were analyzed. Only four articles met the established criteria, revealing a variety of measures, particularly focused on high school students. Additionally, no Brazilian studies were found. The significant role of the AEQ-M in evaluating various emotions related to mathematics in different contexts is highlighted. This study identified crucial instruments for assessing emotions, understanding their impact on the learning process, and developing strategies to minimize the impacts of this issue.
