Abstract
Service-learning (SL) has been integrated into teaching-learning processes at all levels. Its application, approaching reality without sieves, contrasts with an equidistant neutral education, outside all ideology. However, this oxymoron entails limiting learning to reconsider our personal beliefs, which are the representation of the social deficiencies of our time. Particularly, when innovation is promoted with service-learning and a geographical focus, it is possible for the local to recognize the manifest perversity of globalization. This is the objective of the sensitization project developed: to reformulate the objectives of education. The service? Give a voice to the oppressed. Without the need to avoid the established curriculum, through the epistemic method, or human method, the potential of school to raise awareness about social problems is demonstrated, in this case, acting from the most immediate environment in public opinion, at the community and social level, specifically on the migratory issue.
