Abstract
The purpose of this article is to show, through a chronological journey, the role played by music in the context between 1933 and 1945, in the countries occupied by Nazi Germany. The work gathers information through a documentary and testimonial analysis of accounts from the life histories of survivors and their descendants, who approach music as a fundamental instrument for the propaganda apparatus of the Nazi regime and as a means of salvation for many prisoners of the ghettos and concentration and extermination camps. The experiences of these subjects become significant information to understand the power of music in extreme situations, such as those experienced during World War.
