Negro African Heritage; a didactic proposal on masks for Visual and Plastic Education

Abstract
This article focuses on the inclusion of Negro African artistic heritage in traditional masks within the curriculum of plastic and visual education subject. The project develops didactic activities focused on the visualization of African masks and in this way to palliate the ethnocentric connotations that suppose the ignorance of the black African cultures[i]. This didactic proposal will be developed within the educational context of the Goya Institute of Zaragoza at the level of 1st year of Artistic Baccalaureate. This didactic proposal has been put into practice within the subject of Volume and the group consists of 8 students with ages between 16 and 17 years old. In this group, one student is truant and the rest attend class regularly. The methodological process is marked by active and cooperative learning, where individuals developed their artistic and creative skills.
