Abstract

In this work, the forming of the catholic reform’s example in the Bishopric of Guadix from the return of Saint Torcuato´s relics at the end of the 16th century, its analysed. Besides, the work analyses the influence of this process upon the Sacromonte’s frauds in Granada. After the recovering of martyrs like Fandila, Apolo, Isacio and Crotato as sons of the Bishopric, the example will get its synthesis with Pedro Suarez’s History, published on 1696, which we have to understand under the fi ght between Toledo and Santiago for the ecclesiastical primacy in Spain
