Abstract

The art market in Spain is structured around · art galleries, art dealers, auction firms, and antique dealers. In countries with a stronger tradition in art merchandising new possibilities have arisen, and these are also gradually being introduced in Spain, which has never been noted for its skill in the commercial aspect of art. This article aims to clarify such issues as those of the transparency, authenticity, typology and tradition of works of art on the open market.
