Abstract

Moslem neomedieval architecture in Melilla during this century is claimed to be an essential component in any attempt to establish a theoretical basis for a consideration of the Spanish architectural tradition. In its special historical and geographical context, architectural development in Melilla revived markedly historicist styles and encouraged an eclectic approach to this art. Functional and ideological facets, or simply those of embellishment, which illustrate Neomoslem values greatly enhance its richness.
