Abstract

This paper provides further information on Islamic neo-medieval architecture in Melilla, considered as part of 20th century Spanish architecture and a fundamental component of any theory of this art form in Spain. In Melilla we find signs of an eclectic and historically significan! architectural style, due to the special situation of the town. The functional, ideological or simply aesthetic aspects of this neo-Islamic architecture have enriched the artistic heritage of the area.
