Abstract

This article deals with the vast «documentary heritage» to be found in local administration archives. The documents, normally the product of the local corporations themselves, or received as bequests or donations from various official or prívate sources, constitute an importan! corpus of primary information. Not only do they reflect the history of the particular administration but they are also direct indications of the different economic, social, cultural and political changes which took place in the town or village in question.
