Abstract

This paper deals with the ways in which Spain sought to promote tourism in Morocco during the Protectorate by creating an Offícial Tourism Committee and organising numerous exhibitions and artistic competitions. Special attention is made to the figure of Mariano Bertuchi as the creator of Morocco's public image.
