Abstract

The gardens of the town house belonging to the Rodríguez-Acosta family constitute a unique example of the integration of architecture and landscape. The fascination which they provoke in the visitar is the result of an intelligent combination of elements of architecture and foliage, taking its inspiration from severa) different styles. The architectural features belong to a more or less pure classical style with admixtures of mannerism or ltalian baroque. On the other hand in the foliage we find elements characteristic of the region and the specific locality.
