Abstract

This paper forms the third and last part of a series of articles on historical exhibitions in Argentina, held over a time-span of a little less than two decades, which were fundamental in consolidating the artistic context in that country. The present article concentrates on the Centennial lnternational Exhibition held in Buenos Aires in 191 O, which had a clear effect on artistic circles in Argentina, and the cycle closes with the opening of the national Salon for Plastic Arts in the following year. This successfully achieved the aim of the Athenaeum, expressed at the end of the 191h century, of holding an annual official Exhibition.
