Abstract

One of the most important images of the Virgin which has flourished in the Modern Age in Granada is that of the Virgen del Rosario in the Convent of Santa Cruz la Real. An iconographic study of the sculpture, in which we analyse severa) hitherto unpublished images, shows the unique nature of the decoration, surrounded by legends relating miracles -a devotional resource common in country areas- and the strategic use of these to spread the Word by the founders, the Dominican Order.
