Abstract

The role of women in the Alhambra has received little attention from the historiographical point of view. They are usually referred to in terms of objects of desire or of palace intrigues. The present paper attempts to go beyond this limited view and studies the documentary evidence of the tasks carried out by the only woman who has to date been mentioned in works in the Alhambra.
