Abstract

In the forties in Spain a number of voices began to be raised objecting to the constraints imposed on art and artistic thought after the Civil War. Among these critica! voices was that of Francisco Mirabent Yilaplana who,
in the articles published in the Revista de Ideas Estéticas advocated a revaluation of the aesthetic models of the Romantic period and an appreciation of their contemporary relevance.
