Abstract

The present study focuses on the role of women as owners and developers of buildings, in the various domains of the ancient Kingdom of Córdoba. From the medieval stage, and in the course of the modern centuries, the manors formed the territorial jurisdiction of the Crown of Castile, were governed by prestigious lineages that belonged to some women who have a great historical interest. In their capacity as wives or daughters of the Lords, and even as holders of these territories, they were owners of buildings and prompted religious and civil constructions.
