Abstract

This paper analyzes women's participation in armed Resistance against Franco's rule
(the guerrilla) and his representation through the character of a guerrilla's woman, "La
Pastora". The Pastora's case is an exemple of how women's participation in the guerrilla has
been hidden or mythologized. The history and the myth of this woman pose the problems of
visibility of women's action, their participation in thinked typically "masculine" spheres (like
armed struggle) or the complexe relationship between women and violence.
