Abstract

Except a few exceptions, Antifeminism has been the dominant attitude between the great Thinkers until the XVIlth. and the XVIIIth., when enlightened women obtained the equality with men in the salons. But the new scientist argumentations issued from Enlightenment were a danger in the XIXth. for previous conquests, and fin-de-siècle identity crisis emphasizes antifeminist attitudes. Even women from feminist organizations were not able to get themselves away from traditional ideology. The conquest of individuality and autonomy was relegated in the name of colective interests to whom women sacrificed and subjected themselves again.
