Abstract

The study of gender relationships in slavery en Granada (Spain) during the XVIth century is tje main subject of this article: how androcentrism and sexism have affected the researches on slavery in Early Modern Europe. Most of researches don't question, for example, what was the sexual rate in slavery populations, nor the function of the sexual division of work in slavery, nor the value of reproduction in slavery, nor the differences of the prices of men and women slaves, neither the transmission of slave status through the mother or the father. This questions, crucial on the study of slavery, have not been yet studies untill the moment in Early modern Spain.
