From SOBRE. Publishing Practices in Arts and Architecture, in coherence with its thematic and main conceptual lines, we aim to enable the inclusion and publication of research projects that adopt composition and presentation formats different from the academic article (paper). Aware of the limitations of this model in representing the diversity and potential of other modes of research and writing that can hardly adapt to the paper's structure, we take a stance and offer different sections where relevant research proposals for the field of art and architecture can be included. These should employ diverse languages, media, and discursive formats (beyond text), resulting in rigorous works that are not formally limited or diminished in their creative potential.
The editorial essay may combine different textual, audiovisual, and multimedia elements or materials, as well as links/hyperlinks that lead to online content. The work will be presented formatted using the appropriate medium for its correct reading and visualization. Any doubts regarding this can be consulted with the journal's editorial team.
The work will also include a brief summary/abstract (150 words) in both Spanish and English, as well as a set of keywords (3 to 5) in both languages. The title of the editorial essay will be presented in both Spanish and English. For complete guidelines, please refer to the "Author Guidelines" section.
Reviews
Reviews of current events relevant to the general or particular editorial line of the issue.
These types of texts succinctly describe and analyse a recent work of interest to the discipline.
They must contain a maximum of 4,000 words and adhere to the following structure:
- Information to submit: author name and surname, title, city, publisher or organisation name, date.
- Abstract: a brief exposé of the subject matter, content, style, structure and main ideas.
- Critical commentary: a thought out assessment of the work at both internal and contextual levels. That is, the internal assessment is based on the analysis of the points described in the abstract while the contextual and assessment explains the work’s current pertinence and serves to highlight its relevance in the framework of other studies and research.
