Abstract

This work describes the mistakes that a group of 27 students of the Mathematics speciality of the Master's Degree in Secondary Teacher Training have revealed in a modelling task. Based on the literature review, a system of mistake categories is established in the different phases of the modeling process and the coherence between them. The analysis of the results shows a higher frequency of errors in the phases in which the original real situation intervenes: the simplification phase to obtain the real model and the validation phase to interpret the results obtained. The types of mistakes reported provide information for the training of future mathematics teachers.
