Abstract

The "Targumic School of Barcelona", founded by Prof. A. Diez Macho, followed his research in different targumic areas. Disciples of this Master have made interesting contributions on the application oftargumic method especially to New Testament literature. In the field oftextual criticism the Eastern and Wesernt traditions ofthe Targums are specially pointed out. The Babylonian tradition of Onquelos represented by Vatican Ms 448 and the Spanish translation ofalI the Palestinian Targums are in preparation. In this way the important work of Biblia Polyglotta wilI be achieved. Related to Targum Jonathan, Minor Prophets according to the Babylonian tradition and their Spanish translation are ready to be published. With this edition the publication of the prophets according to Babylonian tradition will be completed. A significant number of articles and papers on exegetical and doctrinal themes have been written by his disciples. With the critical edition ofthe rest ofthe Writings the large work initiated by Díez Macho in order to consolidate the international contribution ofSpanish Scholars to targumic literature wilI be completed.
