Abstract

Studies the the policies implemented by the Catholic Kings in the eastern part of the Kingdom of Granada for the improvement of its road network through two processes: the awarding of licenses for the establishment of inns and the improvement of roads and the construction of tracks, taking advantage of fiscal and labor exploitation of the Moorish community. In addition, the representation of this community through the Council of notables, the collaborators and bailiffs is analyzed as described in unpublished documents mainly from the Municipal Archives of Guadix and the General Archives of Simancas.
