Abstract

Brief note of the reforms and the Spanish translation of the 69 modified articles and the added article by law 04 of February 5, 2019, published in the Official Bulletin of April 5, 2019, which has modified again the Syria law of personal status —law that regulates the legal relationship among the members of the family, in other words the marriage, their breakdown, filiation, successions and wills— that was promulgated in 1953, ist source is the legal school ḥanafī, it is composed of 308 articles contained in six books and previously it had been modified in 1975 and in 2003. The changes introduce don this occasion not only eliminate some of the inequalities and discriminations existing between men and women, Muslim and no Muslim, but in some cases as well suppose a great change, all of which means one more step towards legal equality.
