Abstract

A small, golden kidney-shaped pendant with repoussé decoration is conserved among the ancient collections of the MAN; it seems to have been found somewhere in present-day Extremadura. The artifact has be en dated to pre-Roman times to this da y; nonetheless its closest analogies date back to Late Antiquity. Given the scarcity of related objects -especially in Spanish territory-, this find becomes of paramount importance to approach the production and circulation mechanisms of such personal adomments in fifth-century Mediterranean.
