Abstract

Long time considered as a minor author, analysis of the works of Jules Verne reveals the significant presence of Greco-Roman world. From explicit quotations to more elaborate intertextual procedures that require the presence of an adult, competent and accomplice reader Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea shows us a much denser, critic and complex writer than it used to be accepted by criticism.
