Abstract

This article is an updated summary over the settlement and organization of theterritory during the III th century B.C.-VII th century D.C. in the western part of theprovince of Granada, historically known as Tierra de Loja, made up by the currentmunicipalities of Algarinejo, Huétor-Tájar, Loja, Salar, Villanueva de Mesía and Zagra.The work is made from the study of the many archaeological sites located in the area,toponymy and inscriptions, as the literary references are few and provide limitedinformation.
