Abstract

An exhaustive and individualized analysis of the Roman strix is proposed as a study. For this purpose, the main textual sources will be analized, allowing their characterization from Antiquity to the end of the Middle Ages. The final result exhibits how an evil creature originally linked to the death, night and alterity ended up evolving into another reality associated with sorcery, witchcraft and anthropophagy.
