Numerical assessment of the degree of visual pollution in a Cultural Property: Methodology for implementation and application to the Albaicín of Granada.

Abstract

This study addresses an existing problem in visual impact assessments for antennas and cables installed in buildings and sites of special protection such as the Albaicín of Granada, and specially its southern slope facing to the Alhambra, which is one of the four sectors that integrate the Granada Historic Asset. The development of a new method aimed to obtain a valid numerical index for the valuation, analysis and statistical process is proposed. Using this new method and basing on the route previously published by the author in this journal (No. 9, December 2011), we offer a comparative assessment with the current situation, developed in the same locations, able to provide the time evolution between 2011 and 2015.
