At DEDiCA, we are fully committed to protecting the personal data of our authors, reviewers, readers, and other users. This privacy statement aims to provide detailed information about the procedures used for the collection, storage, use, and protection of personal data provided through our open-access platform.

Processing of Personal Data

In accordance with current personal data protection legislation, particularly the provisions of the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), users—both registered and unregistered—are informed that the data collected will be processed to manage the editorial process and ensure the proper publication and dissemination of open-access scientific articles.

The processing of personal data serves the following specific purposes:

  • Communication with authors, reviewers, and editors: The collected information is used to maintain effective communication between all parties involved in the editorial process.
  • Dissemination of updates: When users provide their consent, their contact details may be used to send information about updates, news, and communications related to the journal’s activities.

  • Readers: Unregistered users can access content without providing personal data. However, those who wish to subscribe to notifications, newsletters, or alerts must provide an email address.
  • Web navigation: The use of cookies and tracking technologies is strictly limited to improving the user experience and analyzing traffic metrics, without collecting personal data without the user’s knowledge.

Use of Data and Third-Party Transfers

The collected information will be used exclusively for the purposes described above and will not be shared with third parties unless legally required. DEDiCA strictly adheres to the principles of data minimization and purpose limitation, ensuring that only the data necessary for the journal’s legitimate purposes are collected.
