Abstract

The main goal of this study was to analyse: a) previous knowledge in music research and b) favourite musical issues to research. The subjects were students who enrolled in music education Master’s degree at the University of Seville. Two questionnaires were administered to collect information about these two issues. The results showed that students had a lack of or very little knowledge of techniques and methods in music research. Issues related to music education (contents, resources and methods), psychology in music education (motivation, relaxation) and sociology (value of music, possible approaches to the general public) were the favourites themes to do research in.
