Abstract

Present-day crises both in the economy and in values have had an effect on companies especially, since speculation and unfair enrichment have decreased society's confidence in them. This decline strongly intensifies the term ethical leadership and its practice in business. This study aims to analyze the reasons which lead to its establishment in the company, and asks if it is necessary or optional, through the reviews of the work of some authors specialized in this area, beginning with a brief introduction to the evolution of the term “leader” and its relation to ethics, and concluding by showing its role in the business world.
