Abstract

The growing attention that literature has given to how organizations can develop and implement policies and measures to support the reconciliation of work and family life demonstrates the importance that they may have to the employees.

This article is based on a qualitative study, using interviews with managers/directors of human resources of six companies from different sectors of activity. The study aimed to characterize the importance given to the topic of reconciling work and family life. It also aimed to gain knowledge about work-family reconciliation measures available in the organizations as well as the main benefits that employees can have by using them.

Implications for how organizations can continue to develop and implement reconciliation measures work-family along with lines for future studies are discussed.
