The Artistic Expressions of seniority: from the construction of a positive view of their skills in regard to their limitations and own challenges
Main Article Content
Abstract
The search for artistic expressions between senior people is beyond the necessity to build a more positive view of their skills, in the face of their phisical or cognitive limitations. Neither should it be limited to a necessity for self-fulfillment pronounced by the latent creative potential, numb and opressed.
It constitutes mainly as a means for them to challenge themselves and simultaneously say to society and the community they belong to that they're not disabled or useless, they offer to do things that are usually associated with highly gifted people, or those privileged with special artistic and aesthetic skills. The conquering of these challenges and the social impact that they strive to produce may have very positive reverberations, more meaningful to the rescue of their identities and social roles, resulting in a boost to their self-esteem.
