Creative tourism for all: foundations for planning sustainable destinations
Main Article Content
Abstract
Nowadays, tourism destinations are required to adapt its supply to the demands of new and different markets, considering their competitiveness. When associated with the co-creation of experiences, creative tourism offers a unique character to the contexts where it is developed, promoting learning experiences that result from the relationship between tourists and local communities. Nevertheless, this interaction has been restricted to disabled tourists, which is one of the reasons why certain constraints (internal, interactive and external) should be overcome. This paper aims at enhancing how important education and the awareness of destinations’ stakeholders are in promoting a dynamic and interactive connection between all actors of the tourism experience. The suggested Educational Model of Creative Tourism for Everyone stresses the relevance of education in the process of co-creating innovative and inclusive tourism products, bearing in mind a fulfilling experience for everyone involved as well as the competitiveness and development of tourism destinations.
