Abstract

The present work is based on the study of a new aspect of repopulation of the Kingdom of Granada, in the particular case of the leasing policy developed by the Crown in the first moment. Centered on the city of Baza and its land, this article is about the leasings of “suertes” in the repopulated towns, about the “bienes sueltos”, its progressive decrease due to the sales and about the social categories that had access to them: speculators, middle classes and certain collaborators who where moorish.
