Abstract

Placing the Paradise in American lands has been part of a long cultural tradition throughout the history of the entire continent. In Hispanic America, far from being an imported vision from the European thinking, it has had several connotations according to the different times, contexts and authors, becoming a powerful tool for political critic and social awareness used by he American themselves.
