Abstract

One of the main features of the Spanish administration in the Old Regime is collegiality. However, monarchy has used commissions the same way other European monarchies have, aside from also using different collegial bodies since the ruling of  the Catholic Monarchs. This piece examines the assignment of judges of commission, describing their involvement in justice, police, fiscal and war matters and sketching the tensions between these judges and the different monarchy institutions.
