Abstract

The aim of the present paper is to present an approach to aspects of the historiographical method and its relevance to art. We propose the need for a historical perspective on the theory of art, based on a revisíon of classic Marxism. We then contrast the results of such an analysis with another approach to the theory of the historiography of art and post-modem criticism.
